 |
29 to 31 August 2001 |
Location: |
 |
Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury, UK |
Over 8,000 of the world's tree species are in imminent danger of extinction in the wild. Together with PlantNet the Global Trees Campaign aim to highlight how the basic and easy practices of wood recycling and composting can help save the most threatened species and their habitats.
Speakers considered issues such as recycling and composting opportunities in the UK, lead discussions on tree propagation and the use of recycled products.
The two days included tours around the Silk Wood and endangered trees in cultivation at the Westonbirt Arboretum, plus a chance to visit the Westonbirt House, a grand Italianate 19th Century building.
