'Towards a Global Tree Conservation Atlas' released.

Date: * 08/04/2003

The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are sponsors of a report ‘Towards a Global Tree Conservation Atlas’ published this week, which highlights the plight of five ‘flagship’ species which the Global Trees Campaign is working hard to save.

This is a preliminary publication for a more comprehensive atlas that will review the distribution of many of the world's globally threatened trees.

Please also visit the release on the UNEP-WCMC site which has more details for press, including a photo archive at: www.unep-wcmc.org/information_services/publications/gtc/global.htm

The full press release, including a case study of the Monkey Puzzle is available to download here (765KB).

'Towards a Global Tree Conservation Atlas' itself is available to download here (1.5MB).
