Fauna & Flora International, the world’s longest established international wildlife organisation has teamed up with award winning sustainable gift company Tree2mydoor to offer a gift service that directly benefits community reforestation projects.

Over 8000 tree species, 10% of the world's total, are threatened with extinction. Destruction of woodland and forest and unsustainable felling of valuable timbers are causing the loss of many important species and ecosystems. FFI’s Global Trees Campaign is working with local non-governmental organisations and community based organisations to help restore threatened habitats such as the Atlantic Rainforest of Brazil and the Monkey Puzzle forests of Southern Chile through tree planting projects.

The Tree2reForest scheme provides a valuable source of income to support local communities in their tree planting activities; just two dedications alone can provide enough income to support one family for one month. Tree2mydoor Director, Gareth Mitchell explains "All the money raised will go to conservation activities. Our company does not benefit financially from the Tree2reforest initiative, instead, we benefit environmentally - increasing opportunities for conservation around the world."

Customers can log on to http://www.tree2mydoor.com/products/products.asp?ProductCategoryID=7&search=1 and dedicate a tree in a reforestation project of their choice. A certificate of dedication will then be posted out along with literature on the project, including details of the tree species planted and a record of its GPS location so that in years to come customers may visit their tree and see for themselves the healthy forests they have helped to restore.
