Chinese Academy of Sciences
The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and its network of 14 botanic gardens are working with the GTC to identify threatened species and conserve threatened Acers, Magnolias and Rhododendrons. Our main CAS partners are:

Kunming Botanic Garden is working with the GTC to conserve threatened Magnolia species.
Department of Nature Conservation and Protection (DNCP), Cambodia http://www.camnet.com.kh/moe/index.htm The DNCP is part of the Ministry of Environment, formed in 1993 by the Royal Government of Cambodia. They are working with the GTC to reduce illegal logging and conserve threatened trees, such as Beng (Azfelia xylocarpa).
Environment Africa Trust www.environmentafricatrust.org.uk EAT is a UK Registered Charity founded in 1993 to support organisations working in Sub-Saharan Africa that encourage sound environmental management and biodiversity conservation through a strong community economic development focus to achieve sustainable livelihoods. EAT is working with the GTC to secure a good market for sustainable sourced Mpingo in Tanzania.
Fundacion Entre Volcanes (FEV), Nicaragua http://www.fundacionentrevolcanes.org/proyectos.html (in Spanish) Fundacion Entre Volcanes (FEV) was established in 1991 to encourage sustainable development in rural communities in Ometepe, in part through participatory training projects. The FEV are working with the GTC to conserve Ardisia ometepensis, a rare tree endemic to Ometepe.
The Kyrgyz National Academy of Sciences, Kyrgyzstan
Established in 1993, the Academy aims to carry out research and training in technical, natural and social sciences and to advise the government in matters of scientific policy. They are working in partnership with the GTC to conserve rare apple (Malus) species.
Madagasikara Voakajy, Madagascar http://www.madagasikara-voakajy.org Madagasikara Voakajy is a Malagasy biodiversity organisation that was established in 2005 with the aim of conserving endemic vertebrates and their habitats in Madagascar. They are working in partnership with GTC to conserve the flagship baobab Adansonia grandidieri.
Morton Arboretum, US
Morton Arboretum is working with the GTC to promote tree conservation in the United States.
The Mpingo Conservation Project, Tanzania http://www.mpingoconservation.org The Mpingo Conservation Project aims to conserve the miombo woodlands of East Africa by promoting sustainable and socially equitable harvesting of mpingo (African blackwood) and other valuable timbers.
The National Arboreta were formed in 2001 with the joining of the Forestry Commission’s two premier tree collections – Bedgebury Pinetum in Kent and Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire. Together they contain approximately 4000 different taxa and as such form one of the most comprehensive tree collections in the world.
Vietnamese Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources (IEBR)
The IEBR are working in partnership with the GTC to conserve five threatened Vietnamese conifer species.
The Centre for Plant Conservation, Vietnam
The Centre for Plant Conservation (CPC) aims to study, conserve and rehabilitate plant groups in Vietnam, especially threatened and endangered species, with the participation of local communities.
Ya’axché Conservation Trust (YCT), Belize http://www.yct.bz/index.php The Ya’axché Conservation Trust (YCT) is a community-based NGO aiming to promote biodiversity conservation and sustainable development in the Golden Stream Watershed (GSW). They are working with the GTC to conserve Honduran Rosewood in Belize.
