Ethiopia

FFI has recently supported scientists from the University of Addis Ababa in the development of propagation methods for two indigenous and threatened tree species of Ethiopia, Podocarpus falcatus and Hagenia abyssinica. Both species are important ecologically and economically, but have declined severely throughout the country. Seedlings grown by the project are also being planted in public areas close to the capital city for educational purposes.
